Mimico Branch Asylum, 1888. The name indicates that the hospital was originally designed as a part of Provincial Lunatic Asylum rather than a separate institution. It is evident that the asylum is still under construction because first cottages were not occupied until 1889, and only six out of eight cottages have been constructed. Notices the close proximity of the hospital to the lake and the isolating distance from other developments in the area.
